Regulation: the part most people skip
Vantage is regulated, but not as a single company. It operates through separate legal entities in different jurisdictions, and the entity that holds your account determines the protections you get. According to Vantage’s own help center, the entities include:
- Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd, regulated by ASIC in Australia
- Vantage Global Prime LLP, authorised and regulated by the FCA in the United Kingdom
- Vantage Markets (Pty) Ltd, regulated by the FSCA in South Africa
- Vantage International Group Limited, regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA)
- Vantage Global Limited, regulated by the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC)

Clients in the UK and Australia are onboarded under the FCA and ASIC entities, where retail leverage is capped and stronger investor protections apply. Many international clients are onboarded under an offshore entity. Offshore regulation generally offers less protection than the FCA or ASIC, and offshore entities can offer higher leverage, which increases risk rather than reducing it.
Before depositing, check the client agreement to see exactly which Vantage entity your account will sit under, and look that entity up on the regulator’s register.
Platforms and tools
- MetaTrader 4 and 5: industry-standard platforms with wide support for indicators and automated strategies.
- ProTrader: Vantage’s platform with TradingView-powered charting.
- Copy trading: lets you follow other traders, which carries its own risks because past results do not predict future ones.
- Mobile apps and demo accounts, so you can practice before funding.
If your workflow centers on TradingView charts, that compatibility can be a real advantage, and it is a big part of why we use Vantage ourselves.
Account types and costs
Vantage offers three main account types. Pricing works differently on each, so the right choice depends on how often you trade and how much you deposit.
| Account | Minimum deposit | How you pay | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard STP | About $50 | No commission. The cost is built into the spread, which Vantage lists as starting from 1.0 pips. | Beginners who want simple pricing |
| Raw ECN | About $50 | Spreads from 0.0 pips plus a commission of $3 per standard lot per side ($6 round turn). | Active traders who care about tight spreads |
| Pro ECN | $10,000 | Raw-style spreads with a lower commission; third-party sources cite about $1.50 per side. | High-volume traders |
Some regions list lower minimums and offer extras such as cent or swap-free accounts, so check what applies to your legal entity. Vantage states that it lists more than 1,000 CFD instruments and that there are no account-keeping fees on the Raw ECN account.
For an independent yardstick, ForexBrokers.com measured an all-in cost of roughly 0.72 pips on EUR/USD for Raw ECN and about 1.32 pips for Standard, and concluded that Vantage’s pricing is in line with the industry average rather than among the leaders. Overnight financing (swap) also applies to positions held past the daily cutoff.
The commission figures above are quoted per standard forex lot. Costs on the instruments you actually trade, such as index CFDs, can differ. Open a demo account and compare live spreads at the times you trade before you deposit.
Pros
- Multiple regulators, including Tier 1 supervision through the FCA and ASIC entities
- Low minimum deposit on the Standard and Raw accounts
- MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and a TradingView-powered platform
- A wide range of CFD markets including indices, forex, commodities and crypto
- Demo accounts to test conditions before depositing
Cons
- Your protection depends on which legal entity you are assigned to; offshore entities offer weaker safeguards
- High offshore leverage can encourage oversized positions
- Spreads are competitive but not always the tightest available
- Bonuses and promotions, where available, come with terms that need careful reading; read the client agreement, including the clauses on trading conduct. Some independent reviews mention disputes over such terms
- CFDs are not available in every country, and generally not to US retail clients
Who Vantage may suit
- Traders who want CFD access to indices, forex, commodities and crypto from one account
- People who chart on TradingView or use MetaTrader
- Beginners who want a small starting deposit and a demo to practice on, provided they keep leverage low
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who wants exchange-traded products with central clearing. Consider futures or ETFs instead.
- Residents of countries where CFDs are restricted or banned
- Traders who insist on a Tier 1 regulator and would be assigned to an offshore entity
